2/Lt. Morgan Jenkins
One of the saddest aspects of the raid was the high proportion of casualties suffered by Captain Micky Burn's close-knit 6 Troop, 2 Commando.
Although the majority of these occured during the loss of ML 192, a second party, a Protection Team under the command of Second-Lieutenant Morgan Jenkins, perished to a man when ML 268 was hit and sunk in the estuary.
Born in Tynewydd, Morgan was described by Micky as '..our Richard Burton, with an all-conquering smile...my first experience, once or twice matched, but never surpassed, of Celtic charm'.
Along with Morgan 6 Troop lost Lance Corporals Hudson and Burns, as well as the inseparable pals, Lance Sergeants Gibson and Harkness - a personal tragedy that Micky Burn would recall to the end of his days.
